Players with a “plus arms” are more valuable to coaches. Get more chances. Get more playing-time. Play the best positions. In fact, college coaches look for players who play "up the middle" (i.e., catchers, pitchers, shortstop, center field).
Players with poor throwing mechanics are often labeled “weak”, get fewer chances, play less, and are more susceptible to injury. Poor arm action is more difficult to change as players get older.
